Individualised Living Options (ILO) are a part of the NDIS program that enables participants to have greater choice and control in their living arrangements. It enables participants to choose where they would like to live, while still receiving vital support services that suit their needs.
While an ILO arrangement does not provide housing or assist with the costs of a home, it does provide participants with the freedom to choose a home environment of their liking.
There are two stages to ILO funding:
● Formulating a Living Arrangement.
○ The first stage is about designing the support an individual would like. This includes where they want to live, with who, and what type of support they will need.
● Creating a Service Proposal.
○The second stage involves obtaining funding to set up the identified stage one support .
It’s important to note that the ILO support package is designed to provide safety and stability, and has a degree of flexibility to change as an individual’s needs change.
