NDIS Neurological Disorder

NDIS Neurological Disorder

The nervous system is not only a complex network of cells and chemicals, but also an organised structure that explains how we interact with our environment. It begins in sight, smell and taste; moves on through to hearing which allows for sound processing, before moving onto movement-based senses like touch and balance.

When something goes wrong with a part of the nervous system, it can cause a neurological disorder that results in some mental or bodily function loss. Neurological disorders affect millions of people each year with the effects varying from person to person.

Here at ANC we have extensive experience working with individuals living with neurological disorders. Our skilled therapists will get to know and understand an individual and design a multi-disciplinary therapy approach to match their specific needs.

What is NDIS Neurological Disorder

Neurological disorders are disorders that affect the brain, spine as well as the nerves that branch out throughout your body. They involve damage to the nervous system that results in some mental or bodily function loss, with the effects varying from person to person. Some common examples of neurological disorders include; neuromuscular disorders, epilepsy, alzheimer’s disease, parkinson’s disease, encephalopathy, among many others.

The NDIS provides funding for a number of support services to treat these types of disorders.

Here at ANC we have extensive experience working with individuals living with neurological disorders. Our skilled therapists are dedicated to helping people achieve better control, mobility, and overall quality of life. We use a comprehensive multi-disciplinary approach that incorporate access to the following therapies:

● Physical therapy
● Occupational therapy
● Neurology
● Neuro-psychiatry
● Neuro-psychology

We’ll design a care plan that’s tailored specifically to an individual and we’ll continue to provide ongoing support so they can gain the independence they want.

The nervous system is a complex, highly specialised network. It covers everything from sight and smell, to walking and speaking, and helps us adequately comprehend and interact with our environment.

When something goes wrong with a part of the nervous system it can cause a neurological disorder.
This results in some mental or bodily function loss, requiring specialised treatment.

Here at ANC we offer a range of services to treat neurological disorders. Since effects vary from person to person, we offer a customised treatment plan for each individual. We’ll take time to understand each individual’s unique circumstances and then design a multi therapy approach so they can ultimately be more independent, and participate more fully at home and in the community.
